XCSO Strava Segment Challenge 2020-21
 Objectives of the Challenge:
Participants challenge themselves to ski faster over a repeatable segment of trail several times over the course of the season - challenging their fitness and other technical components of ski racing!

We have selected segments based on suitability for all ages (U16-Masters) and techniques (skate and classic).

For the Participant:
  1. Create a personal Strava account at www.strava.com (Strava can be used as an app on most smartphones or on a home computer.)
  2. Register in the "XCSO Strava Segment Challenge" on Zone4.ca.
  3. All participants must follow the rules of the trail system where a Strava Segment is located.  This  includes being a member or paying the appropriate trail fees, following directional signage and safety signage of the trail system.
  4. Be respectful of other users on the trail and check trail conditions and closures before attempting a segment.
  5. Observe Cross Country Ski Ontario Return to Sport guidelines in effect at the date of the attempt.
  6. Record/upload your gps workout data to Strava to automatically enter your data into the challenge!
.                     Note: workout entries must be set to "public" to be eligible for the leaderboard

Segments:

1. Purple Trail - from the bridge crossing to the S-Turn meetup  (0.60km, 14m gain, -1.5% grade)

Picture
2. Blue Trail - from the Brown breakaway, ALL the way up, along High Lake (not the BlueX) to where the trail meets the Green/BlueX (3.01km, 60m gain, 1.4% grade)
