The idea is to ski what, for you, is an extra long distance. By doing so your name will be immortalized on a plaque to be displayed in the Clubhouse. The more Kilometers you ski, the higher up on the plaque your name will be. Some people try to constantly better their distance from the prior year, but this is not a requirement. You can ski classic style, or skate, or both. You can ski the same trail over and over again or any combination of trails you want. There is no supervision and no marshals. This is a ‘personal’ distance challenge, so everything is on the “honour system”. Cost $3.00 and there will be a BBQ at the end hosted by Michel Chartrand Sign-up Pay $3.00 and enter your name on the sign-up sheet at the Snack Bar. This can be done anytime up to and anytime during March 15, 2008. Be sure to indicate if you are interested in the barbecue afterwards. The $3.00 covers the cost of the plaque and does not include skiing – you must be a member or purchase a day pass. Start skiing Start as early as you like. Finish skiing You should be finished by 5 pm. Enter your total distance skied on the sign-up sheet, as you would like it to appear on the plaque. Examples “50 Km”, “4 Green”, or “All trails – 52 Km” (specify distance if noting “All Trails”) Barbecue Chef Michel will host a simple barbecue from 4 pm to not later than 6 pm for those who indicated interest on the sign up sheet. The rest can head home to the hot tub! There is no awards ceremony, watch the Nugget and look for the plaque |
