Mark on your calendars Sunday September 19th as the date for the annual Active Running & Therapy Centre Trail Run at the Nordic.  Challenge yourself by walking or running our beautiful trails while supporting the Alzheimer's Society. Please note that the clubhouse will be open for the remainder of this week but staff will not be present on Thursday, and Friday, the 11th and 12th.  Trails remain open.  The staff will be back in on Saturday 13th.

The club's executive will reassess the conditions over the weekend and update the clubs plans with respect to staffing.

The snowshoe trails are cleared and ready for use this season. There was only minor maintenance that had to be done this year with several small trees to be moved and a bridge to be partially rebuilt. The one exception was a huge deadfall near the east end of the Ridge at Nordic Trail which required minor rerouting around its protruding root system. Many Nordic members have yet to check out these trails. Why not do so one day when ski conditions are not ideal - or when you just want a change of pace? If you don't have your own shoes, rentals are available at the Clubhouse for a reasonable rate. And don't forget that if you have visitors or friends who would be more comfortable walking than skiing this makes a fine alternate activity and can be as easy or as strenuous as you wish. Snowshoe trail descriptions are available in the clubhouse or under the Trail Maps menu tab.

During our Open House in December, our new women's change room was unveiled courtesy of Nicole Neff of Bay Builders. The work is receiving high praise and Nicole has announced plans for further renovations to the lower level of the club house. Thanks to the generosity of Nicole and Bay Builders our lower level if getting a much needed facelift. Click read more for picture.

The by-laws require that “ minutes of the Annual General Meetings need to be sent
to the membership at large” the Board takes the position that notice of the posting of these                              ,
minutes on the club website constitutes proper “sending” to the membership at large. In
addition, the Board will make these minutes available in a weather proof mailbox at the club
and send them to any member of the club who requests them whether by phone, email or
letter.

Update from Personal Observation at about 10:00AM

 Northshore Road is reported to be plowed.

 

Club House will be open and the stove lit.

 

Please feed the fire if you notice only a bed of coals.

 

The groomer is out with the Alpine packing the snow that has fallen. 

 

We are still working on creating a base for  excellent sking. As reported in the Trails Report yesterday we need colder weather to dramatically improve the skiing conditions
